With the rapid increase of the world population and the over-exploitation of coal, oil and other natural resources, the green and efficient utilization of LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas, LNG) gradually becomes the ideal choice to improve the environment and keep the sustainable development of economic.The LNG industry is emerging in the world, and it has just started in china. At present there are only a few researches on the LNG tank, not to mention the ones on the analysis of temperature-stress field of the external tank. In order to meet the fast-developing situation of the LNG industry, this paper made the following work to provide a reference for our country own design of full containment LNG tanks:First of all, the three-dimensional FEM model of the full containment LNG tank by ANSYS, a sort of large-scale finite element analysis software, is established.Secondly, the temperature's distributions of the external concrete wall of the LNG tank on normal conditions, under different buffer solution levels, at different temperatures and under different leak levels are analyzed.Finally, on the base of calculations of the temperature, the external concrete wall's stress distributions on different conditions are studied.
