The oilfields were distributed in a wide range in China. The distances between differen t oilfields were various and the geographical environment is speciall, which make the com munication equiments of oilfiels is in mess. Thus, it’s difficult for construction and mantena nce. At the same time, the cost is also increased because of that. Besides, there are numbers of sensors in oilfields. The sensor is asked to be disassembled and reassemble after the prog ram is installed to update the program installed in sensor. It makes the tightness cann’t be g uaranteed and the cost for maintenance be increased. It increases the construction of data co llection system cost. It’s also not good for management of pumping unit. In order to solve th at problem, we designed a data collection system for oilfields. It’s an oilfield wireless collec tion system which is based on WSN(wireless sensor network). Not only automatic data coll ection in remote and wireless transmission are achieved, but also the monitoring in remote i s managed. On the basis of the acquisition and use of wireless MSP430 microcontroller storage mechanism and ZigBee technology, to achieve the program’s instrument sensor wireless download function, not only reduces production costs, but also improve production efficiency.Based on the remote monitoring system of oil field analysis are introduced in this paper based on IEEE802.15.4 (a specifically for low rate wireless personal area network protocol) standard ZigBee short-range communication technology, and the use of the sensors in a wireless network and data transmission, realize the multiple sensor device data of wireless data acquisition and transmission function. Through the description of wireless network in all ZigBee node network, analyzes the characteristics of different types of node equipment and join the network. It not only studies the ZigBee network protocol stack and topological structure, and on this basis, completed between the sensor and the RTU communication protocol.The monitoring system uses MSP430 Series MCU and ZigBee module and a variety of sensors and other devices to build acquisition nodes, gateway nodes and hand operation device, oil field sensor and RTU using ZigBee network and specialized software to realize the instrument of sensor configuration parameters and send commands to complete data acquisition and transmission, RTU through GPRS network or fiber directly data can be sent to the control room in order to achieve the function of remote monitoring. Compared to the subject of the traditional monitoring system for oil field with two main characteristics are as follows:one is the ZigBee technology is applied to the oil field monitoring system in, cable instrumentation modification into wireless, saving field wiring cost; using ZigBee technology and singlechip storage mechanism to realize the instrument sensor program on-site wireless download function, then focuses on how to research the safety and reliability of wireless download process, the encryption chip to guarantee the safety in the process of wireless transmission.
