According to the heat and mass transfer mechanism of iron ore sintering process, combined with physical and chemical change dynamics equation of sintering process, based on CFD computation theory, with an iron and steel enterprise sintering machine as the prototype, the three-dimensional unsteady mathematic model of iron ore sintering process appropriated for charcoal substituting sintering is established. Utilizing the finite volume method, the seven sintering schemes are conducted by Fluent 3D single precision solver, the seven sintering schemes are conventional sintering,substituting conventional fuels by 10%,20% and 30% bamboo char and chestnut shell char.Compared to solid temperature and flue gas component concentration of the seven schemes, using the charcoal partial substituting coke breeze sintering is beneficial for increasing the thickness of solid combustion zone, improving the sintering rate, reducing sintering time. When substituting conventional fuel with 10%,20% and 30% bamboo char, discharge volume of CO2 of in flue gas is reduced by 0.41%,0.83%,1.3% of the conventional scheme, respectively, discharge volume of CO is reduced by 0.72%、1.1%、 1.4% of the conventional scheme, volume of SO2 is reduced by 3.5%,6.5%,9.8%. When substituting conventional fuel with 10%,20% and 30% chestnut shell char, discharge volume of CO2 of in flue gas are increased by 0.26%,0.44%,0.58%, respectively, discharge volume of CO is increased by 0.24%,0.38%,0.52%, and volume of SO2 is reduced by 3.5%,6.5%,9.8%. Use of charcoal substituting coke breeze sintering in the form of equivalent energy output, the volume of CO2 and CO is related to fixed carbon content of blended fuel.Seven schemes are evaluated according to the three evaluation indexes of sintering thermal process of the solid highest temperature, solid high temperature duration time, solid cooling rate, the analysis results shows that the bamboo char and chestnut shell char substituting schemes solid highest temperature distribution are superior to the conventional scheme, respectively, the reasonable substitution ratio is 20%,and the optimal scheme is 20% bamboo charcoal substituting scheme. The results indicate that use of high ignition point charcoal substituting coke breeze sintering is beneficial to optimizing the solid highest temperature distribution. The bamboo char and chestnut shell char substituting schemes solid high temperature duration time distribution are superior to the conventional scheme, respectively, the reasonable substitution ratio is 20%,and the optimal scheme is 20% bamboo charcoal substituting scheme. The results indicate that use of high ignition point charcoal substituting coke breeze sintering is beneficial to improving the quality of sinter into pieces. The bamboo char and chestnut shell char substituting schemes solid cooling rate distribution are superior to the conventional scheme, and the reasonable substitution ratio is 30%, and the optimal scheme is 20% chestnut shell char substituting schemes. The results indicate that use of low ignition point charcoal substituting coke breeze sintering is beneficial to producing a high mechanical strength of sinter.
