With rubber products are widely applied to daily life as well as automotive,aerospace and other industrial fields, the total demand of rubber products increasedsignificantly, while the quality requirements is also rising. More and more rubberproducts using the traditional rubber processing technology can’t meet the modernenterprise production needs, the introduction of rubber injection molding process notonly improves the quality of the product, but also led to the automated production andimprove the efficiency. However, with the products mass-produced and the risingprices of raw materials, how to ensure raw materials of low cost, control the cost andmaximize the interests of enterprises becomes the new problems of injection molding.In order to solve the problems, people put forward a rubber injection mold based onthe cold runner system, this mold based on rubber injectiong mold adds a temperaturecontrol loop to the gating system in order to make the rubber in the flow channel not tobe vulcanized, it can also maintain a certain flow temperature. And the rubber wastewas not need to be removed in the next filling mold, the rubber continuous productionis completed, and the molding products have high quality, thus the purpose of highqualite, high efficiency and lower cost can be achieved.On the theoretical basis of the rubber cold runner injection molding process andinjection mold design methods, and combined with experience and polymer rheology,the rubber mold with cold runner was designed and optimized by numerical simulation,the drawing of mould was completed by using Pro/E. Take the car nozzle rubber forexample, the research is as follows:1. A three-dimensiona solid modeling of rubber nozzle product was designed byusing3D design software, combined with reference data to complete the initial gating system and cavity layout of rubber cold runner device.2. The flow of rubber fluid was simulated by using CFD software POLYFLOW,and the best runner design and injection velocity was designed according to thedifferent scheme design and their analysis results of the flow field.3. Rubber injection molding is different from the plastic, it needs for heatingvulcanization molding after the completion of the injection. When the mold gatingsystem optimization design is completed, the rubber vulcanization molding cavityreaction needs to be analyzed according to the optimization model, use MOLDFLOWsimulation, analysis the forming products quality to get the optimum vulcanizationmolding process parameters.4. According to the results of simulation and optimization, the whole3-d shapemold was set up by the EMX module of Pro/E software, what was utilized to designrubber injection mold with the cold runner, then the mould structure rationality wasverified to complete the desigen of rubber injection mold with cold runner.
