As a foreland of the subject of computer graphics and the other interrelated fields, the development of virtual reality technique made people put forward a new need to substation training system. The representation of traditional two-dimensional can no longer meet the needs. Along with the increasing performance of computer, the feasibility of setting up intuitionistic three-dimensional substation training system using virtual reality technique became true. It enhances the feeling of reality a lot.In this paper, the concept of metafile and graph control is introduced. A three-dimensional display interface is built by using the OpenGL standard. 3DS MAX is used to set up the model including the scene models and the electrical equipment models which is need in the training system and because it is hard to build this model in the OpenGL. Considering 3DS MAX is short of interaction, the information which is used to represent the model is pick-up and saves to the structural file. Before-mentioned work is based on characteristic of the 3DS MAX file and makes the easy using in the OpenGL. At the point of interaction, the deep of the selected object is judged on the base of two-dimensional selection because the distance of the object must to be considered in the three-dimensional reference frame so to realize the correct click by mouse. Realize the communication among the three-dimensional system and the other computer by using the protocol of Socket and sequentially integrated the three-dimensional system into the substation training system.According to the method of this paper, the three-dimensional system is affiliated into the BaJiaZi substation training system. Proving by practice, the system which is reality in whole and can make the training people immersion is higher in the worth of practicality.
