A Preliminary Study On The Therapeutic Effect Of Tianma Gouteng Decoction On 30 Cases Of Obstructive Sleep Apnea Hypopnea Syndrome With

ObjectiveBy collecting patients diagnosed obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS)of hyperactivity of liver Yang in accordance with traditional Chinese medicine, treat with Chinese medicine decoction—Tianma Gouteng Yin.By observing the changes of apnea hypopnea index, lowest arterial oxygen saturation, traditional Chinese medicine symptom score and body mass index, to explore the effect of Tianma Gouteng Yin as Chinese medicine treatment of OSAHS, provide the basis for the system of syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine.MethodsThe patients of this study is from Beijing Hospital of outpatient and inpatient during December 2013 to February 2015, with polysomnography (PSG) examination who has snoring and typical clinical manifestations of OSAHS, then according to the diagnosis criteria of OSAHS for diagnosis, screening of the diagnosis of OSAHS and hyperactivity of liver Yang type of patients as the research object, a total of 42 patients.Then according to whether the patients accept the treatment of decoction or not, divided into the treatment group(30 patients) and the blank group(12 patients), the treatment group with Tianma Gouteng Yin, the blank group without any treatment.After one month, do the PSG examination and evaluate the traditional Chinese medicine symptom again.Using SPSS Statistics 20 statistical software for data analysis.To assess the overall efficacy of treatment, Chinese medicine symptom curative effect, the symptoms improvement, compared the changes of AHI, LSaO2 and BMI.ResultsThere is statistical differences in the overall efficacy between the two groups after treatment(P<0.01).The treatment group of 30 patients,2 cases are markedly effective, effective in 16 cases,12 cases ineffective, the total effective rate is 60%, the blank group 0 cases are markedly improved, effective 0 cases,12 have no effect, the total effective rate is 0, two group compared P=0.001< 0.01, the difference has significant statistical significance, shows the treatment group curative effect is better than the blank group.Among them, in treatment group, in 14 cases of mild patients,2 cases had marked effect,12 cases effective, total effective rate was 100%;in 7 patients with moderate, effective in 2 cases, 5 cases failed, the total effective rate was 28.6%;9 cases of severe patients, effective in 2 cases,7 had no effect, the total effective rate was 22.2%.Course of the disease within 2 years (including 2 years) in 11 patients,2 cases had marked effect, effective in 8 cases,1 had no effect, the total effective rate was 90.9%;course of the disease in 2-10 years of 7 cases of patients, effective in 3,4 had no effect, the total effective rate was 42.9%;course of the disease in more than 10 years (including 10 years) in 12 patients, effective in 5 cases, 7 had no effect, the total effective rate was 41.7%.Two sets of each observation index before treatment have no statistical difference(P> 0.05), have comparable.In reducing the AHI, increase LSaO2, improve symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine, the curative effect of treatment group is obviously better than the blank group, P<0.05.About symptoms, the treatment group in improving the symptoms and signs of lethargy lack、dry mouth、headache and dizziness、irritability、insomnia、red face, the difference is statistically significant, P<0.05.BMI compared before and after the treatment, two groups had no obvious change, traditional Chinese medicine to improve the BMI effect is not obvious.ConclusionTianma Gouteng Yin have certain curative effect of treating OS AHS with hyperactivity of liver Yang, it can improve the clinical symptoms, reduce the AHI index, improve LSaO2, especially for patients with mild and short duration.Therefore, early treatment of traditional Chinese medicine can improve the patients’overall situation, relieve the clinical symptoms, improve quality of life.Due to the time of the treatment of this topic only for a month, has no long-term follow-up, and the sample size is less, so the traditional Chinese medicine medicinal broth of long curative effect in treatment of the disease is not clear, so, we need further study, and rhizoma gastrodiae uncaria drink improve the symptoms of OS AHS indexes and mechanism still needs further research.
