Ccnthamus tmttornu L is widely used as a traditional medicine in China The plant has been cultivated and used as a drug for more than 2100 years It is usually used to treat gynaecological diseases, cardiovascular diseases, cerebrovascular diseases and so on In China, it is mainly produced in Xmjiang , Henan, Sichuan and YunnanIn order to study the chemical constituent ofCarthamus tmctornis L and provide evidence for establishing the quality standards of Calhamus tinclorws L, we isolated and purified the chemical constituents of Cathamns tmctornis L by solvent extraction and chromatography As a result, 14 compounds were isolated and 11 compounds were identified by spectral analysis(UV, IR, MS, 'HNMR, 13CNMR) They were palmitic acid(l), steanc acid(2), isopentanoic acid(3), 0 -sitosterol(4), stigmastol(5), daucosterol(6), quercetm(7), apigemn(8), kaempferol-3-0-rutmoside(9), 6-hydroxykaempferol-3-O-P-D-glucopyranoside(lO) and rutm(ll) Among these compounds, isopentanoic acid is isolated from this plant for the first time Five compounds of which are active compounds in Cathcams tmctonus LOn the base of the study of the chemical constituents, we collected 22 different species and cultivated them under the same conditions The contents of general flavone were determined by UV, and the contents of rutin, kaempferol-3-O-rutmoside and adenosme were separately determined by RP-HPLC for the first time The result shows that the contents of chemical constituents in the cultivars are significantly different The contents of general flavone vanes from 782%? 08% (He Fei) to 1 63% + 0 01%(Rui Cheng) The contents of rutin varies from 0 138%+0 0()2%(Shu Lu) to 0019%?001%(Rui Cheng) The contents of kaempferol-3-O-rutmoside varies from 0786%? 022% (He Fei) to 0 093% + 0 008%(Rui Cheng) The contents of adenosme in Jimesa'er(554 % + 2i 28 u g/g) is the highest among the 22 species, while it is not determined in some speciesAccording to the analysis by statistics, the contents of general flavone inCaHlla nnctorIl, L is related to the contents ofkaempferol-3-0-rutinoside(r=0 7328** n=21)...
