Specialty Gynecology of Traditional Chinese Medicine I Abstract ] Objective To investigate the regulatory effect of ShiYingYuLin Decoction(SYYLD) and clomiphene eitrate(CC) on function of reproduction and metabolization in polycystic ovaiy syndrome(PCOS) patients with deficiency of kidney and blood stasis syndrome(DKBSS). Methods Immunoradioassay was used to measure the serum levels of leptin, follicle stimulating hormone(FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH),testesterone (T) and insulin(INS) in PCOS women with seflciency of kidney and blood stasis syndrome (n=35) and normal controls(n=1 5) to access changes in leptin,FSH,LH,T and INS levels and the relationship between leptin and FSH,LH,T,INS.Results Serum leptin,LH,LLIIFSH,T and INS levels in women with PCOS before treatment were significantly higher than in controls. In both groups fast leptin levels were significantly correlated with BMI and INS while no significant correlation were found with FSH,LH and T.SYYLD and CC could decrease serum leptin, LH ,LHJFSH,T and INS levels in patients with PCOS significantly while having no significantly influence on serum FSH levels. Conclusion High serum-leptin,serum-LH, serum-FSH,serum-T levels are four of important biochemical changes in PCOS patients with DKBSS.SYYLD and CC can regulate the unbalanced inner-enviroment in PCOS patients from the points of reproduction and metabolization and then recuperate their reproductive function and balance their energy metabolization. The deficiency of kidney and the blood stasis are the important pathology of PCOS from the point of view of chinese traditional medicine.
