[Objective] To observe the effect of spasm extent and motor function and activity of daily living post-stroke spastic paralysis treated by acupuncturing YIN meridian in contrast to YANG meridian. Methods:30 cases of post-stroke spastic paralysis treated by acupuncturing YIN meridian in contrast to 30 cases by acupuncturing YANG meridian, the effect appraised by Ashworth scale and Fugl-Meyer scale and activity of daily living (ADL) scale.[Results] The effect in the post-treatment of the group of acupuncturing YIN meridian is better than the group of acupuncturing YANG meridian obviously, but the group of Acupuncturing YANG meridian didn't change before and after treatment. The Ashworth scale score of the group of acupuncturing YIN meridian is more than the group of acupuncturing YANG meridian obviously after treatment (T=4.77, P<0.05).The Fugl-Meyer scale score of the group of acupuncturing YIN meridian is more than the group of acupuncturing YANG meridian obviously after treatment (T=4.20, P <0.01) . The ADL scale score of the group of acupuncturing YIN meridian is more than the group of acupuncturing YANG meridian obviously after treatment (T=3.18, P<0.01) .the good grade ratio of the group of acupuncturing YIN meridian (30%) was higher than the group of acupuncturing YANG meridian (10%) (P<0.05) .[Conclusion] It is a modus operandi that post-stroke spastic paralysis treated by acupunct uring Yin meridian. But only acupuncturing YANG meridian is incompetence in the stage of sp astic paralysis after stroke.
