Background and ObjectNasal polyp is a disease of chronic nasal mucous membrane-nasal sinuses mucous membrane inflammation, as a very common disease of human respiratory tract, it is a very severe threaten to human health and bring down patient's standard of living. A lot of articles reported the pathogenesis of chronic nasal mucous membrane - nasal sinuses mucous membrane inflammation is very complicated and unclear, so exact etiology and pathogenesis of nasal polyp are still under debate. In the past 10 years,. the role of cytokines in the pathogenesis of nasal polyp are very arrestive. Recently, A lot of article reported the pathogenesis of nasal polyp is a overbalancing course of cell proliferation and apoptosis, and some researchers reported the abnormal apoptosis of eosinophil along with a lot of cytokines's abnormal expression in nasal polyp. So, regulate the chronic inflammation of nasal polyp by modulate eosinophil apoptosis has became a new field to discover nasal polyp's pathogenesis.IL-15, after it's discovery by Grabstein in 1994, lot of research indicated it has a similar bioactivity with IL-2, both of them play a important role in inflammation. A very important bioactivity of it is the function of restrain apoptosis of inflammatory cells, such as eosinophil, lymphocyte and mast cell. And some researchers reported the biological effect of IL-15 to restrain apoptosis of inflammatory cell maybe by the up-regulation the expression of Bcl-2 or Bcl-xl,So, we assume IL-15 play an important role in the pathogenesis of nasal polyp. As yet, we didn't found any report about this. So we detect the IL-15 protein by ELISA and IL-15 mRNA by ISH in nasal polyp, analyze the effect and approach of IL-15 restraining eosinophil apoptosis, probe into the function and approach of IL-15 in the pathogenesis of nasal polyp, especially enhance our knowledge about...
