| Objectives:To observe the expression of interleukin-17A in nasal polyps, and to investigate the roll of IL-17A in the pathogenesis of nasal polyps. Methods:Collected 79 specimens from chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps patients and 10 the turbinate mucosas from the control group. To analysis the peripheral blood eosinophil percentage of all patients, referring to the method described by jiang et al, nasal polyps was divided into four types:eosinophilic infiltration type (A type), neutrophil infiltration type (B type), eosinophilic and neutrophil infiltration type(C type),non-eosinophilic and non-neutrophil infiltration type (D type).Expression of IL-17A in 48 patients with different types of nasal polyps and control tissues was measured with immunohistochemical method.Results:1) 79 cases of nasal polyp patients are divided into four groups:29 cases of A type (36.7%); 13 cases of B type (16.46%); 2 cases of C type (2.53%); 35 cases of D type (44.30%); 2) The eosinophil infiltration degree in the nasal polyps was related with peripheral blood eosinophil percentage (r=0.498, P< 0.01).3) The percentage of IL-17A positive cells shows statistical difference between the nasal polyps group and the control group, between A type and B type, between A type and D type, and between B type and D type (P< 0.01).Conclusions:IL-17A is an important cellular factor involved in pathogenesis of eosinophil nasal polyps and neutrophil nasal polyps, and play an important role in the pathogenesis of these two types of nasal polyps. |
