Objective To investigate the effect of resin of Dracaena cochinchinensis on the expression of TGF- β singal transduction molecule TGF β RII and Smad4 mRNA in the lung tissue of rats with pulmonary fibrosis, evaluate the effect of resin of Dracaena cochinchinensis on pulmonary fibrosis and the mechanism.Methods Thirty SD rats were randomly divided into three groups: fibrosis model, treatment and normal control groups. In the model group and the treatment group, pulmonary fibrosis were induced by the intratracheal injection of bleomycin(5mg/kg). In the normal control group, normal saline was given intratracheally. Resin of Dracaena cochinchinensis was administered intragastricly in the treatment group with a dose of 180mg/kg while normal saline was given intragastricly to the other two groups with the same dozes from day 2 till day 28 after modeling.
