Methods: Investigation method: Qualitative and quantitative methods (anonymous questionnaire, face to face interview, etc.) were used. Sample: Stratified cluster random sampling method was used to recruit 753 students in grade one to three (355 males and 398 females) from an university in Chengdu. Quota sampling was used to select interviewee who had filled in the questionnaire. 60 students, choosing from each grade, accepted the face to face interview.Results: Questionnaires were handed out to 790 students, and 753 qualified questionnaires were returned. Statistical difference was not found between males and females with regards to the AIDS related knowledge (t=0. 410, p>0.05). Students were deficient in safe sex knowledge. Only 5. 7% students knew the knowledge about condom exactly. Males knew the knowledge about safe sex more than females (t=2.016, p<0.05). The rate of approving of premarital sex was 72.9%.
