Endophyte lives together with medical plant, Some endophytes are enable to affect production and accumulation of medical plant active ingredient, but there is no report about endophytes of Panax plant so far.In this thesis, we studied the isolation and purification of endophyte lived in Panax quinquefolium L, the production and transformation of ginsenoside components by endophytic bacteria, the preliminary identification of endophytic bacteria producted ginsenoside component. Accordingly, we discuss initially correlation about microorganism and ginsenoside active components .First of all, 32 strains endophytic bacteria were isolated from the root of American ginseng applied the methed of tissue separation by four kinds of nutrient medium. Fermental cultivated to 32 strains endophytic bacteria, the examine reaction of triterpenoid saponin and TLC comparison indicated that there were 3 strains endophytic bacteria(named I-III) were enabled to produce panax saponin components, definited ginsenoside Rb1 produced by endophytic bacteria III with HPLC, the yield of ginsenoside Rb1 was 3.8113mg/L in the fermentation.In order to investigate the biotransformation of ginsenoside Rb1, ginsenoside Rb1 as substrate was added into the culture of 3 strains endophytic bacteria. The results showed that ginsenoside Rb was partly transformed to ginsenoside Rd by HPLC.According to the feature observed the culture and identified the biochemistry, 3 endophytic bacteria strains were identified as three genera, they are Erwinia, Pseudomonas and Enterobacter.
