Objectives: The objectives were to find out the baselines of knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) on HIV/AIDS and needle stick injuries happening among practice nursing students; To evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of health education and to make suggestions on health education about HIV/AIDS prevention and occupation protection.Method: A quasi-experimental study design was adopted. This research includes three stages. The first stage was about basic investigation and analysis, in which the result was used to plan health education. The second stage was about health education, which lasted for 6 months. At last stage, the effectiveness of health education was evaluated. Result: 1) The baseline survey showed that the knowledge score was 9.53, the attitude score was 163.82, 5.33% students committed that they had sexual intercours, the rate of protective sexual intercourse was 48.42%, the rate of the needle stick injuries occurred was 50.90%. 2) The effectiveness of health education, the knowledge score of HIV/AIDS in education group was higher than in control groups.The knowledge score in education group before and after education was 16.57 up from 9.54. The attitude score in education group was higher than in control groups, the attitude scores in education group before and after education was increased from 162.94 to 180.73. The rate of protective sexual intercourse in education group was higher than in control groups. It showed the rate in education group before and after education was increased from 44.40% to 91.70%. It showed the rate of the needle stick injuries occurred in education groups before and after education was reduced from 52.33% to 30.12%.Conclusion: It is effective to conduct health education on HIV/AIDS and occupation protection among practice nursing students. The knowledge level of HIV/AIDS was increased, attitude toward HIV/AIDS patients had positively changed, protected intercourse was increased and the needle stick injuries happening had reduced after education. The result may provide the theory basis for health education about AIDS and occupation protection.
