Objective:In order to investigate the effects of deproteinised calf serum injection (DCSI)administrated perioperation on blood glucose(BG),serum insulin(INS),lactic acid(LA), and c-peptide(CP)levels in patients of stomach carcinoma during the radical operation.Methods:Thirty-nine patients for stomach carcinoma undergoing radical operations were randomly divided into three groups(each group 13 patients):control group and DCSI interfered groups.DCSI,which dose were 800 mg(D1)and 2000 mg(D2)were injected before anesthesia,first postoperative morning and second postoperative morning.Blood samples were taken from internal jugular vein for determination of BG,INS,LA and CP,insulin sensitivity index(ISI)was calculated.Samples were obtained before anesthesia(T1),before surgery(T2),120 rain after the start of surgery(T3),10min after extubation(T4),postoperative 24 hours(T5)and postoperative 48 hours(T6).Results:compared with T1,BG were all higher at T3,T4,T5,T6 in three groups (P<0.05);INS were higher at T4,TS,T6(P<0.05),ISI were lower at T4,T5,T6(P<0.05),CP were higher at T5(P<0.05).compared with C group,BG was significantly lower in D2 group at T4(P<0.05),LA were significantly lower in D1,D2 groups at T4(P<0.05),INS were significantly lower in D1,D2 groups at T5(P<0.05),ISI were higher in D1,D2 groups at T5 (P<0.05);compared with D1 group,ISI were higher in D2 than in D1 group(P<0.05).Conclusion:deproteinised calf serum injection for intravenous drip during perioperation could decrease insulin resistance and the increased reaction of blood glucose originated stress, inhibit the production of lactic acid in patients undergoing the radical operation for stomach carcinoma.The effect of 2000mg dose group was better than the low dose group.
