Research Of Body Mass Index (BMI) And Hypertensive Overweight, Obesity Patients With Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Syndromes

Objective:To explore the relationship between BMI and other hypertensive obesity factor and tcm syndromes.To provide experimental evidence for prevetion and treatment of hypertensive obesity.Mehtods:1.From 239 hyertensive patients that accord with hypertensive diagnosis standard,and select hypertensive obesity patients that BMI≧24;2.120 hypertensive obesity patients are categorization according to tcm syndromes;3.Analysis the spread and of tcm syndromes group,and explore its law.Results:1.In 239 hypertensive patients,there are 120 hypertensive overwheight,obesity patients, constituent ratio is 50.21%;patients with BMI≧24 have 67/120(28.03%);patients with BMI≧28 have 53/120(22.18%).2.There are 77/120(64.17%) hypertensive overwheight,obesity patients who is central obesity,43/120(35.83%) hypertensive obesity patients who is peripheral obesity;the ratio between them are 1.79:1.Most of the male hypertensive patients are central obesity(51.67%), and most of the female hypertensive patients are peripheral obesity(20.00%).3.The spread of 120 hypertensive overwheight,obesity patients in tcm syndromes: excessive accumulation of phlegm dampness type(40/120,33.33%)＞yin yang deficiency type(37/120,30.84%)＞yin deficiency yang excess type(21/120,17.50%)＞qi deficiency and phlegm type(12/120,10.00%)＞hyperactivity of liver fire type(10/120,8.33%).There are significant difference(P＜0.05) between excessive accumulation of phlegm dampness type and other tcm syndromes type.4.Yin yang deficiency type are mainly appear in BMI≧24 group,excessive accumulation of phlegm dampness type are mainly appear in BMI≧28 group.It means there are positive correlation between tcm syndromes and BMI(Correlation coefficient 0.259, P＜0.01).5.The spread of central obesity:excessive accumulation of phlegm dampness type＞yin yang deficiency type＞yin deficiency yang excess type＞hyperactivity of liver fire type,qi deficiency and phlegm type;the spread of peripheral obestity:yin yang deficiency type＞yin deficiency yang excess type＞excessive accumulation of phlegm dampness type＞hyperactivity of liver fire type,qi deficiency and phlegm type.It means there are positive correlation between tcm syndromes and WHR(Correlation coefficient 0.239,P＜0.05).6.The higher education level of excessive accumulation of phlegm dampness type and yin yang deficiency type,the lower patients they have.lt means there are positive correlation between tcm syndromes and education level(Correlation coefficient 0.187,P＜0.05).7.Excessive accumulation of phlegm dampness type mainly appear in age 40～50,yin deficiency yang excess type,hyperactivity of liver fire type,qi deficiency and phlegm type appear in every age range,yin yang deficiency type mainly appear in age 60～80.It means there are positive correlation between age of hypertensive obesity patients and tcm syndromes (Correlation coefficient 0.307,P＜0.01).8.Patients that BMI≧24 mainly appear in hypertension 1^st grade,and patients that BMI≧28 mainly appear in hypertension 1^st and 2^nd grade,and they have significant difference (P＜0.01).It means the higher of BMI,the higher of hypertension grade they have.9.Excessive accumulation of phlegm dampness type mainly appear in every hypertension grade,yin deficiency yang excess type and hyperactivity of liver fire type mainly appear in 1^st and 3^rd hypertension grade,yin yang deficiency type mainly appear in 1^st hypertension grade,qi deficiency and phlegm type mainly appear in 1^st hypertension grade.Conclusions:1.There are 50.21%of hypertensive obesity patients in overall hypertensive patients.2.There are relationship between hypertension grade and BMI,the higher of BMI,the higher of hypertension grade.3.There are positive correlation between BMI,WHR and tcm syndromes.4.There are positive correlation between hypertension grade and tcm syndromes.5.There are regularity between hypertension overweight,obesity patients with tcm syndromes.The excessive accumulation of phlegm dampness type is main syndromes.6.Education level,age are related with hypertension overweight,obesity patients with tcm syndromes.7.To express the review on the information research of traditional chinese diagnosis,it should add in qi deficiency and phlegm type in tcm syndromes.
