Experimental And Clinical Research On Treating Knee Osteoarthritis By ZiWuLiuZhu Point Application Tied With Bushen Huoxue Medicines Of TCM

Osteoarthritis is a degeneration of cartilage in joints and the surrounding bone hyperplasia of the pathological features of chronic progressive arthropathy disease.Its pathological change takes the articular cartilage losing as the characteristic,accompanied by the cartilage repairment and the bone remoulds and hardens under the cartilage,may form under the cartilage bone pouch changes with spur besides the joint edge.Its basis change is the degeneration of articular cartilage,related with patient's SOD and Estradiol(E2)level change.Knee Osteoarthritis is called in the Chinese medicine "Knee Rheumatism".Its main cause is the kidney empty.In recent years,domestic-depth study of OA of both Chinese and Western medicine in treating osteoarthritis treatment methods effective to a certain extent.However,no breakthrough has been made.OA is recognized osteopathy research problems,the lack of good clinical treatment.Seeking for effective treatment of osteoarthritis of medical work has become an important and urgent task.Ziwuliuzhu has not been found in the literature search acupuncture in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis reported.PurposeThis reaserch provide a both traditional and innovative treatment of KOA using the method which the clinical research and the experiment unify.Methods79 patients with KOA which are from the GD TCM Hospital from November 2007 to February 2009 during the early in this study are randomly assigned to two groups,the treatment group of 39 patients,the control group of 40 patients.The treatment group is treated with Ziwuliuzhu point application tied with Bushen Huoxue medicine of TCM.The control group is treated with Glucosamine Hydrochloride(puli capsule)(Provited by Zhongyuanwei medicine Co,Ltd),240mg each,three times a day.Both the two groups before treatment,after treatment for 4 weeks and after treatment for 8 weeks are scored HSS,determined the blood-serum SOD and E2 level,and then compared.All data used SPSS11.5 software for statistical analysis.Statistical method:numeration data is analysed with X~2-test,measurement data is analysed with t-test.ResultsAfter statistical treatment:HSS score of the two groups before treatment,was not different significantly(P>0.05).After 4 weeks,difference of HSS score was not statistically significant(P>0.05).After 8 weeks,difference of HSS score in the two groups is statistically significant(P<0.01).SOD and E2 before treatment,was not statistically significant different(P>0.05).After 4 weeks treatment,SOD score was significantly different(P<0.05).After 8 weeks treatment,difference of both blood-serum SOD and E2 in the two groups is statistically significant(P<0.01).ConclusionZiWuLiuZhu point application tied with Bushen Huoxue medicines in treatmenting knee osteoarthritis is definite and is superior to the Puli capsule.It can obviously enhance patient's blood-serum SOD and E2 level.It can be promoted and applicated in the clinical.
