The Clinical Observation On The Therapy Of Knee Joint Osteoarthritis Using Bushen Huoxue Fa

Osteoarthritis is the result of disequilibrium of normal degradation and synthesis linkage that involves three interrelated mechanical and biological factors, chondrocyte , extracellular matrix and subchondral bone, it has the symptom of arthromeningitis in different degree. The knee joint osteoarthritis(KOA) is one of the common, questionable diseases in orthopaedics. Whose aetiology and pathogenesis have not been known clearly. There is no specific drug that can cure the disease at present. For the past few years, the contribution of free radical is more and more pay close attention in the process of the occurance and development of KOA. TCM therapy of KOA has throusands of years, which has accepted by the patients for certain curative effect but no conspicuous adverse reaction and lesser expense. ObjectiveTo evalute the clinical curative effect on the knee joint osteoarthritis treated with the Bushen Huoxue Fa. Methods60 patients with knee 0A who match with the standards of diagnosis were divided into two groups randomly, Bushen Huoxue Fa group and Celecoxib Capsules group, and treated for four weeks , and followed up . ResultsThe decoction group has more affirmative curative effect with the total effective power 93. 33% than the control group. The symptom of arthralgiaof two groups has been improved significantly after treatment, the scores of knee joint function and the superoxide dismutase in blood-serum of two groups were notablely higher than those before the four weeks treatment. After statistical treatment, the clinical symptom and the articular function and the superoxide dismutase in blood-serum were significantly improved (P<0. 01), but no difference existed between the two groups before the treatment ( P>0. 05). ConclusionsTCM therapy by overall analysis and differentiation of syndrome and signs has Content curative effect in the improvement of the clinical symptom and the articular function . But we should make experimental study to explain the precise mechanisms of TCM therapy on KOA.
