Objective:To observe the therapeutic effect and the changes of the VAS,Lysholm scores and levels of SOD in knee joint fluid before and after treatment on knee osteoarthritis with Anti-bone hyperplasia decoction after arthroscopic surgery, we investigated the further mechanism of Anti-bone hyperplasia decoction for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis.Method:60 cases of knee OA patients were collected from the orthopaedics department of The People's Hospital from Sep,2009 to Oct,2010.They were randomly assigned to two groups after Arthroscopic Surgery:the treatment group and the control group, each group included 30 cases. The treatment group were treated with Anti-bone hyperplasia decoction. The control group were treated with Glucosamine Sulfate (provided by ZheJiang HiSun Pharmaceutical AO,LTD),0.628g each, three times a day. Both the two groups before treatment, after treatment for one week, one month, three months were scored VAS,Lysholm, determined SOD in knee joint fluid before treatment, after treatment for one week and one month, and then compared. All data used SPSS 13.0 software for statistical analysis. Statistical method:numeration data was analysed with X2-test, measurement data was analysed with t-test, ranked data was analysed with rank-test,Result:1.The VAS,Lysholm scores and levels of SOD in knee joint fluid of two groups had significant difference (P<0.05) after arthroscopic surgery one week later.2.The comparison of VAS,Lysholm scores between the treatment group and the control group had significant difference(P<0.05) one month later and had greatly significant difference(P<0.01) three months later.3.The comparison of the levels of SOD in knee joint fluid between the treatment group and the control group had no significant difference one week later, and had significant difference(P<0.05) one month later.4. There was no obviously noxious and side effects in all cases.Conclusions:1.Arthroscopic surgery cooperated with Anti-bone hyperplasia decoction could improve the knee joint OA patient's symptoms and physical signs, increase SOD levels, and delay the progression.2.In a certain extent, Anti-bone hyperplasia decoction may take effect by affecting the levels of SOD in knee joint fluid.
