ObjectiveTo explore risk factors and the difference between myocardial infarction and ischemic stroke.MethodsData for disease history, family history of disease, life style and biochemical indicators in admission including blood sugar, blood lipids and plasm fibrinogen etc, were collected from patients with myocardial infarction and ischemic stroke in our hospital. Spss software version 13.0 was used to analyze the data.ResultsPrevalence of smoking, family history of hypertension, family history of cardio-cerebrovascular disease, history of hyperlipoidemia in acute myocardial infarction patients (48.2%,31.7%,15.3%,38.0%) were significantly higher than that in ischemic stroke patients(21.2%,16.7%,9.8%,23.5%), p<0.001. Prevalence of hypertension in ischemic stroke patients(66.7%) were significantly higher than that in acute myocardial infarction patients(46.7%), p<0.001. Comparative results of biochemical indicators after admission demonstrated as follows:Means of HDL-C, TC and LDL-C in acute myocardial infarction patients[(1.06±0.32) mmol/L, (4.60±1.32) mmol/L, (2.56±0.96) mmol/L] were lower than that in ischemic stroke patients [(1.21±0.35) mmol/L, (5.47±1.22) mmol/L, (3.05±0.85) mmol/L], p<0.001; Mean of plasm fibrinogen in acute myocardial infarction patients[(4.26±1.23) g/L] was significantly higher than that in ischemic stroke patients [(3.69±1.24) g/L], p<0.001; No significant difference was found in the means of TG and blood sugar between myocardial infarction and ischemic stroke. Conclusion1. Smoking, family history of hypertension, family history of cardiovascular disease, history of hyperlipoidemia and high plasm fibrinogen were higher risk factors for myocardial infarction.2. History of hypertension was higher risk factor for ischemic stroke.3. In the acute stage, levels of TC and LDL-C in ischemic stroke patients were higher than that in acute myocardial infarction patients.
