Clinical Features And Prognosis Of Patients With Triple Negative Breast Cancer

Objective:To analyze the Clinical features and prognosis of patients with triple negative breast cancer.Methods:The follow-up data of 261 cases of operated breast cancer treated in general surgery ward of The First Affiliated Hospital to Dalian Medical University from may 2004 to December 2008 were collected.Among them there were 34 patients with ER negative,PR negative and Her-2 negative prooved by pathology,accounted for 13%.The median follow-up time is 53 months.Their clinical characteristics,recurrence and survival were summarized and retrospectively analyze.SPSS16.0 software was used for statistics treatment.Chi-square test and fisher exact test was used for univariate analysis.logistic regression method was used for multivariate analysis. Groups as compared with the log-rank.Results:Among the total breast cancer patients,the youngest one is 28,the oldest one is 75,the median age is 50.Pathology type:Infiltrating ductal carcinoma is accounts for 91%.Clinical stage I and II are account for 82%.TNBC group compared with NTNBC group,53 months overall survival rates were 73.5% and 92%,disease-free survival rates were 64.7% and 77.5%,significantly different(χ2 value=11.168,P value=0.0004).Univariate analysis showed that lymph node metastasis,clinical stage were related with prognosis of TNBC.Conclusion:TNBC significantly different of clinical and pathological features from other types of breast cancer, TNBC in this group accounts for 13% of the same period the number of breast cancer incidence.The patients were young, mostly were pre-menopausal women, more positive regional lymph nodes, high grade of clinical stage, easy distant metastasis and poor prognosis. Lymph node metastasis and clinical stage were the prognostic factors affecting TNBC.
