The Clinical Observation On The Efficacy Of Xuan Bi Si Miao Decoction On Chronic Knee Joint Synovitis Of Endoretention Of Damp Heat Type

Objective:To observe the effects of Xuan Bi Si Miao decoction (SBSMD) on chronic synovitis of knee joint (endoretention of damp heat type), as well as to explore its therapeutic mechanisms.Methods:By using randomized control trial,50 patients meeting the inclusion criteria were divided into two groups, the control group (receiving Shirebi Pian plus general therapy) and the treatment group (receiving SBSMD plus general therapy). Clinical manifestations and therapeutic efficacies were compared before and after treatment.Result:1. Therapeutic efficacy of the SBSMD group was better than the control group, with significant difference statistically (p<0.05).2. The SBSMD alleviated symptoms such as rest pain, tenderness, joint swelling, and soreness and weakness of waist and knees more effectively.3. The SBSMD reduced suprapatellar bursa effusion confirmed by Type B Ultrasonography, as well as erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR).4. No obvious side effects were observed after treatment with SBSMD.Conclusion:1. SBSMD can ameliorate the clinical manifestations, delay the disease progression and improve the patients'life quality.2. SBSMD has use value in clinical practice considering its minimal side effects.
