| To observe the clinical efficiency of Shugan Tonglin Tang (Decoction for soothing liver and relieving stanguria) in treating female urethrasyndrome. MethodsA single-centre prospective randomized controlled trial was carried out in 40 qualified outpatients. The patients with 2,5 and 8 in the last numbers of preliminary visit numbering were enrolled into the control group (N=12), and the others patients were in the treatment group (N=28). The treatment group was given Shugan Tonglin Tang(mainly composed of Rhizoma Cyperi, Radix Linderae, Fructus Foeniculi, Fructus Citri Sarcodactylis, Fructus Aurantii, Radix Paeoniae Alba, Fructus Ligustri Lucidi, Rhizoma Imperatae, Herba Pteridis Multifidae, Medulla Junci, Herba Capsellae Bursa Pastoris, and Radix Glycyrrhizae), one dose a day, decocting twice. The control group was given oryzanol 10 mg, three times per day, and Tolterodine, twice per day. Medication would be applied for two weeks as one course of treatment. Depending on the individual patient's condition, two courses of treatment would be applied when necessary. For evaluation of the efficiency and safety of the treatment, the clinical symptoms were observed, and urine and blood analysis as well as the evaluation of hepatic and renal function was carried out before treatment, 2 and 4 weeks after treatment. ResultsIn the treatment group of twenty-eight patients,7 patients were markedly effective,16 effective, and 5 ineffective, and the total effective was 82.1%. In the control group, none of the patients was markedly effective,3 effective, and 9 ineffective, and the total effective was 25.0%. Shugan Tonglin Tang (Decoction for soothing liver and relieving stanguria) is suggested to have certain effect in treating Qi stranguria, The effective rate was 82.1% in the treatment group during the first treatment course, and the rate for relieving frequent micturition, urgent micturition, pain in urination was up to 92.3%.Shugan Tonglin Tang (Decoction for soothing liver and relieving stanguria) exerts certain effect in treating female urethral syndrome without side effects. |
