The Design Research Of College Self-regulated English Learning Platform Based On WAP

Economic Globalization has been here, and the development of any country depends on the international trade, the information transmission and the cultural exchange. If any country wants to join in the world economic system, the language communication is necessary. English as the basic language has been the basic tool for going into the international world. How to improve the English education effects and make the learners carry on the English study well have been questions the experts pay attention to. As the learning society having come, the experts have also been paying more attention to improving the learners'ability of the self-regulated learning. Computer network, information and multimedia technology are rapidly developing and being used in education area widely. These technologies have been the support for self-regulated learning, and some technologies have been used in English teaching. For example, mobile WAP for study has been a new way to owing knowledge, and is playing a more and more important role as a new way of English study.Based on the analysis, the research content of this paper is the design and research of the WAP-based English self-learning platform. At first, the research status of mobile learning based on WAP at home and abroad is investigated using Literature research and Survey research. The characteristics of English Self-regulated learning and the concept of WAP and Mobile learning are defined. Then the theories supporting the paper are analyzed such as Humanistic psychology, Constructivism and Language Acquisition, and the enlightenment of the theories to the research is investigated. The needs of college Self-regulated English learning is investigated through questionnaire. The principle and ideology of the design in the platform are indicated by summarizing the needs, and detailed plan of how to realize the platform is obtained through the principle and ideology. At last, every part of the platform is realized, and the college Self-regulated English Learning Platform Based on WAP is finished. The Platform will offer an effective way to improving the efficiency and quality in college English learning, and it is also effective in training the ability of self-regulated learning.
