With the development of social economy,English plays an increasingly important role in international communication.As one of the basic elements of English learning,vocabulary is always regarded as the key point of cultivating the students' listening,speaking,reading and writing ability.However,there are many problems in English vocabulary learning in junior high schools.On the one hand,the students lack a good atmosphere of language learning.On the other hand,students are not interested in vocabulary learning because of schoolwork burden and academic pressure.In the era of Internet,with the development of technology,smartphones are widely used.English vocabulary learning software has rapidly entered our lives and opened a new mode of English learning.Compared with traditional English vocabulary learning method,English vocabulary learning software has unmatched advantages.Under the background of mobile learning,based on the constructivist theory,the multimodal theory and the language learning strategy theory,this thesis investigates the effects of Bai Ci Zhan vocabulary learning software on junior high school students' English vocabulary learning.In this thesis,the author selected two parallel classes in Grade 8 from Tun Liu No.4 Junior High School to conduct this experiment for one semester.Class 5,the control class with 41 students,was taught through the traditional vocabulary learning method,while Class 6,the experimental class with 42 students,was instructed through Bai Ci Zhan vocabulary learning software.By adopting the pre-test and post-test,the author investigated the first question: What changes does Bai Ci Zhan vocabulary learning software bring to junior high school students' English vocabulary learning scores? What's more,83 research subjects were required to finish the questionnaires before and after the experiment for investigating the second question: What changes does Bai Ci Zhan vocabulary learning software bring to junior high school students' English vocabulary learning strategies?After the experiment,the SPSS 20.0 was employed to analyze the experiment data.From results of the tests,the author arrived at a conclusion that Bai Ci Zhan vocabulary learning software is helpful in raising students' scores of English vocabulary learning.In addition,from the data analysis of the questionnaires,it can be seen that students of the experimental class use learning strategies more frequently than those of the control class after the experiment,which showed that Bai Ci Zhan vocabulary learning software is helpful in cultivating students' ability of using learning strategy.In order to raise students' vocabulary learning scores and cultivate their ability of using learning strategy,teachers should actively consider the value of Bai Ci Zhan learning software and apply this software to their own teaching process.At the same time,this thesis has some limitations.At first,the experiment only lasted for one semester.In addition,the author only selected two parallel classes as research subjects.At last,the experimental materials are limited.Although there are some limitations in this experiment,it still brings some implications to students' English vocabulary learning in junior high school.
