The Western literary tradition of imitating and the Chinese literary tradition of Yanzhi(express one's aspiration or emotion) gave birth to different drama in neterogeny culture. The Western literary tradition of imitating emphasizes on the natural world. The Chinese literary tradition of Yanzhi attaches importance to express one's inner world. With the difference of Chinese and Western literary tradition, the technique of Chinese and Western dramas'expressing emotion shows distinct characteristics. In the Western literary tradition of imitating, William Shakespeare who is English talent writer, wrote the comedy which is the most lyrical comedy in the western comedy even in the western tragedy. Because of that'A Midsummer Night's Dream'is the most lyrical comedy of all Shakespeare's comedy, we decide to see the technique of Western plays'expressing emotion from this comedy. In the Chinese literary tradition of Yanzhi, Wang Shifu in the Yuan dynasty wrote his representative work'Romance of the west chamber'. This classic drama is good at expressing fine and delicate emotion, so we decide to see the technique of Chinese classic dramas'expressing emotion from this drama. On the basis of seeking the root of poetics mould, this text attempts to see the different techniques of expressing emotion in that two dramas'plot from the Aristotle's 'On the Art of Poety', Li Yu's'Xian Qing Ou Ji'and Lu Shiyong's'Shi Jing Zong Lun'.In the plot, this text compares the techniques of the two dramas'expressing emotion from the two aspects:plot arrangement and the ending.First, in the plot arrangement aspect, to express their emotion'A Midsummer Night's Dream'and'Romance of the west chamber'gave the detail description of the real world and the unreal world. Because of the different literary tradition, the way of descript shows distinct characteristics.'A Midsummer Night's Dream'descripts the real world and the supernatural world.'Romance of the west chamber'descripts the present world and the unreal world. In the'A Midsummer Night's Dream',firstly, we can get the feelings from the four younge men's acts of love and betray. Meanwhile, putting the magic flower elixir in the text sings praises the love's magic power. Secondly, we can get the romance, fantasy and lyrical atmosphere from the supernatural world full of the fairy king and fairies.'Romance of the west chamber', firstly, we can feel the emotion which is so hard to express from the leading characters sinuous love in the present world. Secondly, we can get the Zhang Sheng's love to Cui Yingying, from his fantasy dreamworld.Second, in the ending of the drama aspect, to express their emotion 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' and 'Romance of the west chamber' both use the satisfactory ending which is from adversity to prosperity. But, the end of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' is comic. In the end, everyone is happy, and people do well and have well. So, the end makes people feel happiness and easy. The end of 'Romance of the west chamber' is grand union, but it also make people unhappy and heavy. From the comparative research of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' and 'Romance of the west chamber', we find out that the two dramas obey the drama form rules, such as depicting character and develop the plot. To express the emotion, the two dramas to a certain extent break through the limit of natural space-time and necessity. They descript the real word and the unreal world in their own literary tradition way and develop the end in their own literary tradition way.
