This paper makes a comparative study on vocabulary between Hakka dialect of Wushi town and mandarin from the word form, meaning, and etymology. This comparative study is not only to provide material for the future in-depth study of Guangxi and the whole Hakka dialect diffusion, dissemination and differentiation, but also to provide realistic material for analysis of Hakka and other Chinese dialects.The paper is divided into six chapters: the first chapter introduces the origins and distribution of the Hakka dialect, the profile of Wushi town, the present situation of the Hakka dialect study, the study purpose and significance, methods and steps, material collection and finishing. The second chapter describes the pronounce system of the Hakka dialect of Wushi town. The third and fourth chapters make a comparative study on vocabulary between Hakka dialect of Wushi town and mandarin. The fifth chapter analyses the reasons of similarities and differences on vocabulary between Hakka dialect of Wushi town and mandarin. The last chapter is conclusion.
