A Study Of The Influence Of Hakka Dialects On The Learing Of Mandarin Vocabulary By Indonesian Students

Many countries have established more Chinese classes following the global Chinese trend.Indonesia Singkawang also has established more Chinese classes in recent years.Singkawang city population majority is Chinese descendants and using Hakka dialects as daily language.Most Chinese teachers is using Hakka dialects as the Chinese language teaching foundation.The differences between Hakka dialect and Chinese language affect the student positively and negatively in learning Chinese language.At present,there are many studies on the influence of Chinese learning in dialect areas.However,there are only few studies on overseas dialect areas,especially overseas Hakka dialect areas.This paper analyzes the positive and negative language transfer effects on learning Chinese of Indonesian Singkawang students,who learned Hakka dialect as mother tongue,and then giving teaching suggestions according to the result.The Hakka dialects of Singkawang differs from the dialects of other regions overseas due to living environment and times.First,the research is using????textbook as example,comparing Hakka dialects of the Singkawang area with the Chinese vocabulary.The comparison comes from four aspects,which are:word meaning,word use,vocabulary pronunciation and word formation.From the comparison,we learned that there is 85.68%similarity between Hakka dialect and Chinese vocabulary.Second,this paper investigates the differences between Hakka dialects and Chinese vocabulary from teachers and students,then analyzes the positive and negative language transfer effects.The similarity between Hakka dialect and Chinese includes meaning,pronunciation and word formation.These similarities help teachers in explaining the pragmatic and semantics of Chinese vocabulary and has positive effect for students in mastering the ability to use new words.On the contrary,the negative effects of Hakka dialect in Chinese vocabulary learning is mainly shown in Chinese language thinking,vocabulary mispronunciation,improper word formation and usage.Finally,this paper gives teaching suggestions from the aspects of vocabulary pronunciation,word meaning teaching and language environment construction.This paper contains six chapters.The first chapter is the background of the topic,includes the meaning of the topic,the research content and direction.The second chapter is the comparison between Hakka dialect and Chinese language.The third chapter is conducting questionnaire survey based on the vocabulary analysis.The fourth chapter shows the result of survey analysis on Hakka dialect affect on Indonesia students learning Chinese vocabulary.The fifth chapter is giving suggestions on teaching Chinese vocabulary for Indonesian students in the Hakka dialect environment.The sixth chapter is the conclusion of research...
