| There has not been too many scholars on the systemic research about literary value of the book of Jiao Shi Yi Lin up till now except some former scholars such as Yang Shen, Zhong Xing, Wen Yi-duo, Qian Zhong-shu etc., who did make some researches but in fact only a little. Only Zhao Yi-shan, the writer of the Book of The History of Chinese Literature Arranged into Sorts.The Volume of Poetry, touched the topic simply among the various kinds of books on the history of Chinese literature. Although Chen Liang-yun examined the matter from the angles of the theory of poetry in his book of The Poetical Explanation of Jiao Shi Yi Lin, it was barely satisfactory. All these obviously don't tally with the significant literary value of Jiao Shi Yi Lin and it also represents the bias on literature nowadays, that is, little attention is paid to the works born and circulated among the secondary and subordinate tradition no matter how great the works may be. Starting from this point, the paper attempts to solve the following problems of Jiao Shi Yi Lin: the author the artistic value, the literary position, and its influence on Chinese literature. The paper falls naturally into four parts:I The author of the book of Jiao Shi Yi LinThis part engages in textual research on the various points of view on the author of the book through the ages. The answer is in the negative that the author of the book is Xu Jun, Cui Zhuan. It upholds the idea that the author can't be a person after the Eastern Han Dynasty. By examining the authority and some unofficial history records, and linking the preceding achievements and engaging in textual research on the book itself, the author of the thesis infers that the author of Jiao Shi Yi Lin was Jiao Gong in the Western Han Dynasty.II The relation between the book of Jiao Shi Yi Lin and the scholastic thinking of the Western Han DynastyThis part analyzes the study of Confucian Classics in the Western Han Dynasty, especially the socialistic backgrounds of the study of the Qi people. The Qi people believed that there were a correspondence between man and universe and alsoadvocated the same relation between the disaster and the governance. The author of the thesis also examined the schools of the study of Changes in the Western Han Dynasty with regard to the thought of the Yin Yang,Wu Xing, Na Jia and the Disasters and Changes in the book of Mao Shi Yi Lin. Consulting the thought of the book, the thought of the literature and the supernatural skills after the Emperor Wu of the Western Han Dynasty was also thoroughly examined. The above discussion clearly shows that the book was produced during the Western Han Dynasty and its author was Jiao Gong for sure. III A significant collection of the poems with four characters each lineIn this part, Jiao Shi Yi Lin is put in the development course of the Chinese poems with four characters each line and its important and great literary value is discovered. This part will be discussed from three respects.A. The culmination of the system of Xing XiangHere some controversial issues of Xing Xiang are examined, and the conception of Xing Xiang and its function are defined. Then the author of the thesis respectively emphasizes on the four different parts of the book, that is the supernatural poems, the chanting things poems, the fable poems, and the chanting history poems. Through the detailed discussion, the system of Xing Xiang in Jiao Shi Yi Lin is proved to be skillful and mature.B. The succession to the tradition of the realism which believes thatthe poems can be used to express one's complaint through making a special effort to study the following special sorts of the poems in the book. That is to say, the political satire poems which made a breakthrough at the tender and gentle poetics, the sad and mild poems representing the framers' hard life and their laborious activity, the poems chanting the hard life and expressing the realization through the lard life, the heartbroken love poems of the conscripted, the poems expressing... |
