During the process of ancient Chinese evolving to modem Chinese , the extinction of rushing tone in Mandarin district is a part of important content in the tone development of ancient Chinese .The extinction and evolution of rushing tone in mandarin district is a very complex issue. During the historic course of its disappearance, the disequilibrium in the development and evolution of rusheng tone in Mandarin district is quite evident. However, seldom people specialize in this issue till to now. Thus, the special investigation into the rusheng tone words in given regions is conductive to the pronunciation of the disequilibrium law of the development and evolution of rusheng tone 晈ords. For this purpose , this paper explores the pronunciation situation of middle ancient rusheng tone words in the Nanchong dialect from two aspects:1. The tone of middle ancient rusheng tone words in Nanchong dialect and the tone included in Nanchong rusheng tone dialectal region and non- rusheng tone dialectal region.2. The compound vowel of middle ancient rusheng tone words in Nanchong dialect and the compound vowel included in Nanchong rusheng tone dialectal region and non ?rusheng tone dialectal region.This paper makes a comparison of the pronunciation situation of tone and compound vowel between the middle ancient rusheng tone wards in Yanting and Shehong tone dialectal region close to Nanchong and those in Xichong and Longpan dialects beyonding to Nanchong rusheng tone dialectal region.
