A Study On The Instruments Of The Song Dynasty

Putting the emphasis on musical instruments of the Song dynasty (hereinafter called MISD) ,the present thesis is intended to summarize and analyze MISD based on the theories of Culture and Image. The whole thesis falls into two parts.Part 1 is a summary of MISD. Consulting the classification of modern instruments, this part sorts MISD into percussion instrument, insufflator instrument and stringed instrument, and discusses them respectively. The keystone is the name, shape, occasion and performance. By all means, it collects MISD as many as possible to make a comprehensive re-exhibition. According to occasion ,MISD is classified as "ya","hu" And "su" .Part 2 is a general discussion of MISD, including 3 chapters.Chapter 1 is the general features of MISD. It gives a brief overview to the features of MISD from its development, propagation, manufacture, use and function, etc..Chapter 2 is the relationship between MISD and transculturation. It presents a concrete study of the relationship between MISD and transculturation from political system, economic structure, social fashion and ideology, tries to reveal the affection of MISD caused by politics, economy and ideology during the transculturation period in song dynasty. =Chapter 3 is the history status and influence of MISD. It mainly argues the history status of MISD, and its influence upon the musical instruments of aftertime.In conclusion, this thesis puts forward a comparatively comprehensive analysis of MISD. while, makes a specific study of its classification, the relationship between MISD and tranculturation, the general features of MISD, and the history status and influence of MISD. The result of the analysis is explained in the last chapter.
