In Xiang dialect,the entering tones having no stop endings is the chiefly distinctive feature. Xiangtan dialect is an important representation of New Xiang dialect.So it is very significant to research the entering tones in Xiangtan dialect.The paper describes and analyzes the initials, the finals, the endings and the sandhi of entering words in Xiangtan dialect; proves the tones will level off,then switch to the highest and level tones and die out. Tonal sandhi plays great role in the process. After analyzing the different distributing in aspirated/no-aspirated sounds , the dissimilarity between the entering tone and the ancient voiced sounds, this paper also proves, because of the infuluence from different language society and from other dialects,imbalance and stabilization will exist in Xiang dialect for a very long time,...
