Few Phonetic Issues Research Xiangtan Dialect

Xiangtan city is located in the middle east part of Hunan Province,and lies beside the middle down stream of Xiangjiang River.Xiangtan City is also the hometown of Mao Zedong and the general Peng Dehuai.Xiangtan dialect is one of representations of New Xiang dialect.Meanwhile,it also has some linguistic features of Old Xiang dialect.However,the research on Xiangtan dialect is not surficient right now,especially on Xiangtan urban dialect.Xiangtan dialect is only described briefly. Acorrding this situation, the writer is trying to do some deep research on issues of Voiced initial,Zhi-xi characters and entering tone on the basis of investigating in this rigion.In addition,a comparison will be made between Xiangtan dialect and New and Old Xiang dialect,even other dialect district.We hope that will be helpful to research Xiangtan linguistic problem in diachronic and synchronic aspects.This kind of research could make up the inadequacy of research of Xiangtan dialect.Meanwhile,it can suppley more materials for the research as well.This thesis includes five chapters.The first chapter briefly introduct the Xiangtan’s geography,history,population and language usage.The second chapter mainly discuss the question of Voiced initial.The third chapter mainly discuss the question of Zhi-xi characters.The fouth chapter deeply analyze the separation and evolution of entering tone.
