An Observation On The Use Of Chinese Multi-Adverbs By Thai Students

Chinese and Thai belong to the Sino-Tibetan language family. From their language styles, they all belong to the uninflected language, which does not have or lack the style mark and style change. Sentences are formed using the S + V + O word order.The syntax structure is dependent on the word order. The function word is used to relate one word to another or used in other grammatical functions. Therefore, the word order sequence in this language family has a significant grammar function. However, the usage of Chinese and Thai peaceful modifiers (attribute and adverb) is greatly different in word order of rank. Chinese modifier is found in front of main word, but in Thai, the modifier is placed behind the main word. Therefore, when Thai students study Chinese modifier, they often have problems recognising it, specially the adverb, which makes learning Chinese difficult. Because of the relative attribute, the Chinese's peaceful adverb order corresponding relations is more complex, particularly in multi-adverbial situations.
