[OBJECTIVE] To investigate the prevalence of childhood behavior problems, analyze the prevalence of childhood behavior problems and explore the related factors on individual, family, school and social aspects; to probe the efficacy of social skills training in the treatment of children with behavior problems and analyze the influencing factors.[METHODS] The subjects were sampled from one primary school in Ji'nan, Shandong Province. The study was divided into two periods.In period one, a basic information questionary, The Rutter Scale, Family Environment Scale-Chinese Version(FES-CV) and Egma Minnen av Bardndosnauppforstran(EMBU) were administrated to all subjects. According to the score of the Rutter scale, all the subjects were divided into two groups, the normal children and the children with behavior problems, with a cut off score of 13 points. The prevalence of childhood behavior problems was calculated and the related factors of individual, family, school and social were explored.During period two, the children with behavior problems were divided randomly into two groups, Group A and Group B. Group A was consisted of 43 cases and group B 44 cases, but one case in Group B was dropped out during the study. Children in Group A were trained firstly on social skills while children in group B were free of any intervention.
