The researchers have found that the fear of social situation dominates the entire puberty, thus the social anxiety of undergraduates in the youth weaning period has also become a prominent, problem. At the same time, university students are also in the critical period of self-development, so their self-acceptance level closely affects their future development as well. Research on the psychological characteristics of students with social anxiety and group counseling is still an important task which closely relates to undergraduates' social interaction, mental health and self-development. But at present the study on students of social anxiety and the inspection of factors which affect social anxiety is not enough, especially the research on the relationship between self-acceptance and the formation and maintenance of social anxiety, and the spread of group counseling programme on undergraduates in the critical period of self-development also needs to be raised.Based on previous study, this research tries to explore the self-acceptance characteristics of college students with social anxiety and the corresponding group counseling. Firstly the depth interview with nine college students of social anxiety is taken to have the preliminary understanding of their self-acceptance level, and then initially affirm that those students have a lower level of self-acceptance, which also nearly relates to the generation and maintenance of social anxiety. Secondly questionnaire investigation with 700 undergraduates, including freshman, sophomore and junior is taken to explore contemporary undergraduates' social anxiety and self-acceptance, and systematically analyse the relationship between self-acceptance and social anxiety. Thirdly a group counseling experiment is taken: collecting social anxiety college students who are with low level of self-acceptance, then divide them into experimental group and control group, using the group counseling programme which based on enhancing self-acceptance to train the experimental group, after the tutorship finished, statistical analysis of the two groups' former scores and subsequent scores is taken. After three months, a tracking research of these targets is also done.According to the study are the following conclusions:(1) The average total score of Interaction Anxiousness Scale (IAS) of college students from freshman to junior is 40.210 points (SD=8.920). In the IAS score, girls are higher than boys, liberal arts students are higher than science students, and non-only-child students are higher than one-child students.(2)The average total score of Self-acceptance Scale (SAQ) of college students from freshman to junior is 41.380 points (SD=6.121). Girls' self-acceptance level is significantly lower than boys, but there is no significant difference between liberal arts and science, grade, whether the one-child, or from urban areas or rural areas.(3)The self-acceptance level of college students is significant negatively correlated (r=-0.545,. p<0.001) with their social anxiety level. Students of social anxiety are lower in the level of self-acceptance.(4)The group counseling based on enhancing self-acceptance can not only raise the: self-acceptance level of students with social anxiety, but also effectively improve their social anxiety, promote mental health and has better long-term effects.(5)The group counseling programme based on enhancing self-acceptance is scientific, feasible and effective.
