In recent years, English teaching in secondary vocational schools has made great progress, teachers' quality is increased and the teaching level is improved continuously. The traditional teaching method is not satisfied with our new students.Now, new English course standard put forward a kind of new teaching theory calledcooperative learning. it regards the cooperative group as the basic form, making use of theinteraction of every kind of factors of teaching systematically, each with students ofdifferent levels of ability, use a variety of learning activities to improve theirunderstanding of a subject .Each member of a team is responsible not only for learningwhat is taught but also for helping teammates learn. Implementing cooperative learningbenefits to stir up students' interest, increasing the students participation, strengtheningthe strategy of the learners; Benefiting to the establish of the relation of the teacher andthe students, which is harmonious, democracy and cooperative. Benefiting to thedeveloping of the teaching. It also reflects the social of the teaching activity, it makesclass become real collective, it is beneficial to dissolve the selfishness, it promotes thedevelopment of the social adaptability ability. It is a main path to educate the studentindependence ability, the spirit of investigation, the consciousness of cooperative and theability of practice. It is also the main path to promote students' independent development.There are five parts in this study. The author regards the theory of the cooperativelearning as the foundation, joining together the practices and the characters of the schoolEnglish teaching, it expatiates how to put the strategy of the cooperative learning intopractice in the vocational school. This study aims at exploring its feasibility, operatingform and the result of practice when it is used in the situation of a secondary vocationalschool. It is lasted in one term, during the process of the teaching experiment, many formsof cooperative learning approaches were adopted.The result shows that the student interest to English, their class participation, motivation and learning capability have been improved. Besides, their ability of cooperation and communication has been much more developed than ever before. However, this thesis is just an attempt research of applying cooperative learning theory into secondary vocational school English teaching and is open to be discussed and improved. |
