After Guanghan Sanxingdui Site, Chengdu Jinsha Site is another important archaeological discovery about Ancient Shu Civilization in the area of Chengdu Plain. So far, a large number of precious cultural relics with great research value have been unearthed and displayed in the Jinsha Site Museum. The research on the Jinsha Site is helpful for us to find out the connotations and features of Jinsha Culture, reveal the prosperous periods and the decline periods of the Ancient Shu Civilization in the long river of historical development, disscuss the conmunication between Ancient Shu Civilization and Central Plains Culture or other regional culture, and understand the diversity sources of Chinese civilization, etc.This thesis mainly focuses on two pieces of Gold Mask unearthed in Jinsha Site, and gives a deep aesthetic interpretation on them from the perspectives of mask culture and gold culture. The thesis is divided into three parts: In Chapter One, the aurthor shows the historical background of Ancient Shu Civilization and Jinsha Culture, and tries to outline their cultural characteristics. In Chapter Two, the aesthetic significance, especially the religious and sorcery connotation of the Gold Mask used as ritual instrument is disscussed. And it's important to point out that the two different aesthetic styles presented by these two masks, namely majestic and playful. In Chapter Three, the author takes the Gold Mask and the Solar Divine Bird Foil for example to make a aesthetic analysis of the gold minerals, especially gives a detailed description on the holy culture of gold and its aesthetic feeling both in materials and crafts.The gold products unearthed in Jinsha Site are all special products of the Ancient Shu religious and sorcery culture, including the Ancient Shu people's religious ideas, ritual characteristics, aesthetic awareness and the traits of science and technology during the Jinsha Period. Gold Mask presents the characteristics and achievements in religious, scientific and aesthetic fields of the Ancient Shu people.
