Mutually using the multi-disciplinary theories and methods, this thesis aims to study the meaning of Sino-Vietnamese poets'contacts and cultural exchanges, and on that basis, to study the Sino-Vietnamese cultural exchanges in the view of poets' contacts in Tang Dynasty. Firstly, this thesis expatiates upon the historical backgrounds of Sino-Vietnamese poets'association, poets group and their intercourse routes, and poets'cross-cultural contacts of literature creation, friendly contacts etc. Secondly, the thesis does some case studies on these representive poets, not only analyzes the cross-cultural activities of Gao pian, Liao Youfang and Jiang Gongfu, but also comes up with a new viewpoint that neihter Han wo nor Liu Yuxi had been to Vietnam. Finally, this thesis discusses the meaning of Sino-Vietnamese poets'contacts and cultural exchanges, holds that poets'cross-cultural activities had profound influence on Vietnam, reginal culture in Annam made contribution to Han culture, and in consideration of the Sino-Vietnamese poets'contacts situation, Sino-Vietnamese cultural exchanges in Tang Dynasty had some unique characteristics of two-way communication, peace and unbalancedness.
