Modification of composition is regarded as an important part of composition teaching and is believed to be helpful for students'writing and raising the level of personal development. Yet the low efficiency reality of composition modification is criticized by many teachers and students. To improve the efficiency of composition modification and develop the students'ability of writing we must change the traditional teaching idea, pay attention to the students main role in composition and have them take an active part in composition modification to make the students become the masters of writing.This paper first introduces American "6+1 elements" composition modification system, Japanese diverse ways of evaluating composition, composition modification depending on oneself in Soviet union and modification of by face to face in UK. On the other hand, this paper also introduced the main ideas of modification from Tang Biao, Liang Qichao, Zhang Zhongxing, Liu Feifei and Gaoyuan,explain the ways of modificating by each other from QianMengLong and YuYi and introduced the ways of modification with the help of recording of He Wanguan in the Chinese university of Hong Kong.Then, this paper raised the new idea of making the students the masters of composition modification and defined the concept based on "Maslow's hierarchy theory of needs ", "the nearest development area", "Chinese new curriculum standard and teaching aims.At the same time, this paper also shows the meaning of modification of the students as the masters, the devise ways and standars of modification, the details of criterion when we modificate composition and the art words of modification.Finally, this paper explained the new modification of the students as amasters contained modification by teachers,students and a comprehensive body of teachers and students. This paper also introduced how to modificate the composition with new rules, standards and its merits and drawbacks.Anyhow, this paper not only explained the theory of new composition modification, so as to provide a broad peer research of thinking and reference.
