Li Zhaohuan And Jiao Tong University

In 1930s, some famous universities appeared in China, such as Peking University, Tsinghua University and Jiao Tong University. Li Zhaohuan and Jiao Tong University, was selected to study.In 1929, being an official of the Railway Department, Li Zhaohuan was assigned the Vice-president of Jiao Tong University. In 1930, he was promoted to be the President.During his 13 years' working in Jiao Tong University, Li Zhaohuan did a creative job in education reforms though hard and responsible working. He highlighted the principle of promoting profound academic study and train experts on transportation construction. He expanded education fields, increased schools to promote the university from engineering study only to both engineering and science. He also employed more democratic famous and intelligence talents to build a professional teaching team. Li paid attention to developing students in mentality and morality, as well as physical body. Mr. Li also focused on studying advanced science and technology. As a result, Jiao Tong University reached its highest peak in the timing before the P. R. China was founded.In 1930s managed by Mr. Li's, Jiao Tong University was achieved much in educating talents, society contributing, science & technology researching and developing. Jiao Tong University was even considered to be the east MIT at that time. Especially in 1930 to 1936, the so-called golden time of the university, numbers of talent graduates were welcomed by the societies and the university gained a great reputation.
