Teachers' knowledge and skills is the very foundation for teacher professional development. Therefore it is always the hot topic in discussion. With the lifelong learning theory permeating and the second curriculum reform propelling, more and more people realize the importance and the necessity of the development for in-service teachers'konwledge and skills. On the other hand, several ways have been tried to boost its development. And 'distinguished teacher workshop' as a new way, is now popular in China. This thesis tries to re-analysis the contents, nature and development models for teachers' knowledge and skills on the basis of 'tacit knowledge theory' and other relevant researches. Then, this thesis takes the 'distinguished teacher workshop' in P district as example to study the development of teachers' knowledge and skills in real life.In chapter one, the author shows the reasons for selecting this topic, the basic research contents, research methods about this thesis; In chapter two, the author tries to re-analysis many aspects of teachers' knowledge and skills in order to observe the practical activity in theoretical way. In chapter three, the establishment background and procedures of 'distinguished teacher workshop' in P district will be clearly showed. In chapter four, the author will further analyze the development of in-service teachers' knowledge and skills in 'distinguished teacher workshop' by case description. In the last chapter, the thesis will show the enlightenments the author gets from the example and suggestions the author gives.
