Child Anxiety Related Emotional Disorders(CARED) is one of the most common emotional disorders in children, has a great negative impact on the pupil’s physical and mental development, and if not be intervened it may continue into adulthood causing anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, and may even last a lifetime. So, for children with CARED a timely and effective intervention is particularly important. However, since most of the limitations of physical and mental development in children, the traditional psychological counseling has a low compliance, and what kind of Sandplay therapy is right the way that conform the characteristics of children’s nervous system and can overcome children’s imperfections in language,attention and other limitations.So, in this study a total of546subjects (286males and260females)from5primary schools with the mean age9.56±2.03were asked to complet The Screen for Child Anxiety Related Emotional Disorders(SCARED), to understand the stage of their anxiety; and then seek out30pupils with CARED and30non-anxiety disorder children from the group to study the characteristics in the initial Sandplay of children with CARED;At last, using Sandplay therapy to intervene the selected4children with CARED,to assess the efficiency of the snadplay therapy.The results were showed as follows:(1)The number of pupil with CARED was137in the546samples,accounted for25.09%.(2) There were no differences in the score of pupils with CARED in genders or grade,but a significant difference in only child or not (P<0.05);(3)There were obvious characteristic performance with the use of the number and types of the toy, the scenes and themes,the working time in Children’s initial Sandplay;(4) Significant phased changes were found in the sandplay during the intervention for the four participants, in general, the sandplay changed towards a more positive, open, dynamic and harmonious direction;(5) In the control group,there were no significant differences between the before and after tests with SCARED, did not show a natural trend of improvement;(6) The results of intervenors with sandplay therapy showed a good healing effect in the near future and in a long rang.
