Construction Of Oil Well Salvage

Remedial operation on oilfields is one of the important measures on guaranteeing stable oil production and increasing oil production. Well salvage and jam releasing are not only the common way but also the important link of handling well accidents. After having taken courses related with Russian translation on petroleum technology and professional petroleum Russian, I selected some Russian materials on well salvage, the jam releasing operations as well as the materials of typical job wells and complex wells. The Russian materials on well salvage and jam releasing operations have been taken as example to summarize the features of the language and vocabulary as well as the translation skills used in the articles of petroleum field. The understandings and experience about this translation are also shared in this paper.This paper is a report of a translation practice. It is divided into four parts. The first part is the task description, introducing the source and content of the translation project. The second part is about the process description, including a summary of the characteristics of the Russian scientific articles on petroleum, and the translation skills and strategies about translating the Russian materials on well salvage and jam releasing operations. The third part is about case analysis based on some practical problems encountered in this translating process. The fourth part is a summary of this translation practice.
