The number of prepositions is small in Chinese but it is use frequently. The study of prepositions by scholars are mainly focus on its characteristic and function aspects, when it comes to a certain preposition, the research of it is still insufficient. This paper takes the preposition ”zai” as the research object, on the basis of predecessors’ research before, conducting a error investigation and statistics, including by obtaining the preposition “zai” from HSK composition corpus, statistics of Heilongjiang University overseas students use the preposition “zai” in the daily life. Then author attempt to analyze the student sources of errors and the reason, summary the types of these errors in the end. In the last part of the thesis, discussing the teaching method about preposition ”zai” in foreigner language teaching lessons.
