Spindle type core drill adopts mechanical and hydraulic hybrid drive mode, give full play to the two kinds of transmission modes of specialty, can be widely used in resource exploration, engineering geological survey and other related industries. Graphing method, a methd of low efficiency, large calculated amount and poor accuracy, is the traditional design technique of this type of mechanical equipment. Programming method may have a higher calculated accuracy, but poor procedure universalite, large debugging quantity, and unguaranteed reliability. With the growing sophistication of CAE technology, virtual protorype technology will be widely used.Based on the complete application situation of the core drill both at home and abroad, the paper comes up with a design scheme for spindle type core drill combing the actual situation of Chinese core drill industry and identifies the main design parameter of the drill. The application of virtual prototype technology in the actual design process based on the SolidWorks software platform completes the design and modeling work of the drill gyrator, gearbox, transfer case, hoist, hydraulic system and rack, and in the end, it assembles the entire drill successfully.The subject analyzes the mathematical principle named finite element method, and it precedes the static analysis research of the key stressed member——the feed beam, based on the SW/Simulation platform. The subject analyzes the theoretical basis of modal analysis, analyzes the five stages inherent frequency of the frame by virtual of the design software, calculates and deduces the possible external vibration frequency that may cause the frame resonance, and then it contrasts the data and excludes the happening possibility of the frame’s vibration.On the basic of static analysis, finished the optimal design of coiling block. And the optimization results are analyzed in detail, confirmed the correctness of the optimization results.
