As the rapid development of economics and improvement of the living standard of people in our country, the need for energy is increasing gradually. Natural Gas Hydrate, one of the new clean, high-efficiency and low-pollution energy, is largely stored, widely spread and shallowly located so that it is an ideal substitute for gas, coal and oil. Since the samples of natural gas hydrate was successfully detected and obtained by the marine workers of our country near the South China Sea in 2007, there would be a huge significance for the sustainable development of our country’s supply of energy, society and economics if the gas hydrate is successfully exploited.The environmental monitoring system of oceanic natural gas hydrate, which is studied and integrated in this thesis, is mainly to collect the oceanic environmental information. In this system, the sensor node, including central control module, power supply module and underwater acoustic module of modulating and demodulating, is mainly used to collect, handle and transmit sensor data, such as CTD, CO2, PH, CH4 and so on. First, sensor node constitute network through the underwater acoustic module and data packets, with the help of multi-hop, is transmitted through node and relay-node, then to the base station on the water. Eventually, the base station on the water forwards the data packets to the control center on the land through satellites.This thesis will be arranged as follow: first some knowledge and concepts about the network of hydro-acoustic sensors is briefly introduced in order to identify that fully distributed topology is adopted by the network in this system. Then, the hardware circuit design, which includes central control module, power supply module and data communication module, is relatively comprehensively presented, and the function of each part and how to realize each part are interpreted. Moreover, software process of how to realize the environmental monitoring system of natural gas hydrate in the sea is presented, including how to establish, manage, choose, upgrade and maintain sensor nodes. Combining the environmental monitoring system of oceanic natural gas hydrate, this thesis successfully demonstrates the process of realizing the system through the aspect of hardware circuit design and software design respectively. At last, the specific oceanic testing scheme is ascertained and part of the testing results are given in this thesis.
