Cathodic protection is a kind of electro chemical protection technology,and its principleis to exerta impressed currenton the surface of corrosion of metal,which makes the protectedmetal to be cathode and the electron transfer is suppressed to avoid orattenuate corrosion.Theprotective potential is the required potential that stop metal corrosion.In practice,theprotective potential of steel is-0.85V usually.When the potential of metal is less than-0.85V,the metal is protected and corrosion can be ignored.So,cathodic protection is aeffective method to control steel tankor pipeline corrosion,which compensates the corrosionbecause of coating defect and delay their life span.Therefore,it is important to monitoreffectively the protection potential.In order to deduce the labor strength of manual collectionof protection potential,and improve the measurement accuracy and real-time,a auto-collectionand transmit system of natural gas pipeline cathodic protection potential is developed in thethesis.The thesis introduces the principle of cathodic protection of pipeline.Then a data sampleand remote transmit terminal by using the GPRS module GTM900combined with single-chipis designed.The terminal has transparent GPRS protocol.At the same time,DLL libraryfunction composed of ten subroutines is developed by which the parameters set up,datatransmit and receives of tware are realized.The test results demonstrate that the module cansample potential and transmit remote data correctly.
