In recent years, with the continuous progress of the technical level of oil and gas development and production of oil and natural gas, pipeline transportation has become an important mode of transport in the energy industry development, technology is developing rapidly. Oil and gas resources development and energy market surge, which makes the pipeline transportation has rapid development in the world, has become the lifeline of the national economy. While the threat of long distance pipeline corrosion is one of the important factors of the safe operation of pipelines, real-time monitoring of cathodic protection potential of buried pipeline, and has an important significance for ensuring the safety of the pipeline. But the current cathodic protection potential oil and gas pipeline access in most cases is still used in artificial regular admission way, this approach requires a lot of manpower and material resources, and further growth, so the network development of cathodic protection monitoring system of intelligent has become an inevitable.According to the development of long distance monitoring and information transmission potential of pipeline cathodic protection, in combination with the monitoring equipment power requirements analysis field, research and design of MSP430and GPRS wireless transmission module of the ultra low power of cathodic protection potential data wireless monitoring system based on system with monitoring accuracy, ultra low power consumption, low cost, long distance, high reliability and easy maintenance characteristics.The results show that the oil and gas pipeline, cathodic protection of wireless monitoring system for the realization of the cathodic protection data telemetry, cathodic protection potential monitoring is more accurate, to achieve a real-time wireless transmission research target, meet the requirement of application of pipeline site. To solve the personnel regular admission of cathodic protection parameters and data can’t be real-time upload problem of long distance pipeline cathodic protection and operation has a strong practical significance of maintenance work.
